We are committed at Mawicke & Goisman, S. C. to having a diverse workforce of individuals who have a varied set of experiences and perspectives, and who come from different cultures and backgrounds. In fact, we don’t just accept diversity, we embrace it, because we thrive upon the intellectual curiosity and passionate perspectives that come from those differences, which in turn allows us to best serve our clients.

Employment Diversity

We have employees of different genders, ethnicity, races, age, veteran status, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds. We provide bias-free opportunities for training, advancement, and success that are based on the individual’s skills, experience, career objectives, character, and talent.

We have established a working environment in which individuals can be treated with respect and dignity, and are empowered to pursue their individual interests and success regardless of personal status. Firm leadership provides regular and sustained one-on-one assistance to promote our diverse spectrum of employees by giving them tools to succeed.

We have established policies that help support this important commitment to diversity. The firm is committed to a supportive working environment in which all employees have the opportunity to use their full potential and succeed to the best of their abilities, free of harassment, bias, and discrimination. Because of these policies, we have achieved significant minority and female representation among shareholders, the leadership team, and firm management, which is among the highest in a firm our size. The firm allows its employees to have flexibility in work schedules where needed, and assists in meeting their needs for child care or other family member care, including generous maternity and disability leave policies, and flexible retirement options.

As part of our diversity commitment, we believe that we must reflect and give back to our community. We support various organizations that represent and promote minority opportunities. For example, a shareholder of the firm is a member and on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Women Entrepreneurs – Greater Milwaukee Group. We are also actively involved with various diversity-related community and civic organizations and programs. For example, a shareholder of the firm serves on the Board of Directors for the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, an organization that provides comprehensive healthcare and social services to those living with HIV disease and AIDS, a population that is primarily from the LGBT community.

We have done all these things because we believe that employing individuals with a diversity of thought, viewpoint, and experience makes us better people, and thus better lawyers able to serve our clients’ needs.
